November 5

Hello!! Well this week was the best week ever!! We had so many awesome experiences, and had a lot of fun doing missionary work - and preaching the gospel. We were able to meet with Marta, and had a great lesson with her. She said she is searching for truth and that she will be baptized if she comes to know that it is true. So we are going to work with her and continue to teach her. We promised her that she would be able to know - and that God would help her. She feels that this will be a whole new experience and way of life for her...and is still hesitant to give it her all, but we know with faith, prayer, and fasting that miracles can happen. A little bit about Poland - being mormon here is really hard. It is almost like changing your indentity of who you are - but that is why we rely purely on our testimonies and the power and authority the spirit gives to our words to touch the people's hearts here that WE KNOW that this is true. That God has reached out to us again, and has called a living day prophet, (because God doesn't change and has always worked through prophets) and that he has restored his same church here back on the earth. The Book of Mormon is evidence of this and is: Another testament of Jesus Christ. It contains the FULLNESS of the everlasting gospel. It's so cool to think that everything that we need to know in this life is in the Book of Mormon and Bible. They go hand in hand. Looking back on my conversion, I have realized that I came to know the Book of Mormon was true as I saw my desire to change and to come more unto Christ as I read. I felt my little seed of faith grow and be nourished (just as it talks about in Alma 32) and saw that life with God, and Christ at the center of it is so much more happier and fufilling and true. Today as I was reading in 3 Nephi 9, it talked about COMING UNTO CHRIST...and how he is still extending his arm towards us every second of every day. He is always here...but are we always willing to COME UNTO HIM? and use his atonement in our lives, which has the power to heal us. It's so simple, yet so easy to forget! But it is the most important thing that we could ever use i our lives. I am so grateful for this gospel and for the atonement. Nothing will ever seperate us from the Love of God - which is in Jesus Christ - his only begotten son. Never FORGET, but always REMEMBER that there is a way to find peace, happiness, and joy in this life....if it is founded upon the gospel of Jesus Christ. DO the little things that you need to do each day to get you there. DIVE into the scriptures, POUR out your hearts to Heavenly Father in prayer, GO to church on Sunday, KEEP the commandments, SERVE those around you, and EMBRACE this message. You will be amazed at the difference you feel and see in your life. God BLESSES us in more ways than we could imagine when we center our lives on his teachings and we GET so much in return for it in this life and in the life to come.

**This week we were also able to go to what is called "Day of the dead" - which is a holiday here...and all the graves at the cemetaries are lit up! It looks so awesome!!! It was magical :).
But we are excited for this week and for the experiences that we will have!!**

Have a great week and make it the best!!!

October 29

Well this week has been awesome!! We ended a great transfer...and began a new one! On Tuesday we went out for dinner as a district for the last time...and then early Wednesday morning I went up to Warsaw to go meet my new trainee, Sister Bown, who is so AWESOME! We came back on a train with the other elders who are in our district, Elder Zelezniak (from Austrailia) who is training Elder Smith ...and got to work. When we were buying our bus/tramwaj passes we had an awesome experience - we asked this young man if he new where a certain street was...he told us in english that he wasn't from here...that he was actually from Oregon. We asked him if he had heard of the church before and he said that he had, and that he was actually a descendent of Joseph Smith! So crazy! haha. He said he wasn't interested and that he was Catholic, but I though it was so awesome that here, in Poland, Heavenly Father was still trying to bring him truth. I know that if we are obedient that we will be lead where we are meant to be! On Friday, we went out contacting in a park - and it was pretty deserted - because the weather has gotten so COLD and it snowed a lot - but we decided to follow through on our plans. We met this girl in her 20's who stopped right away and said that she had been stopped by missionaries before. She set up to meet this week and was so interested in what we had to say. We are excited to teach her. Her name is Marta :). Another cool experience....we went out white boarding with the elders on saturday...and we were talking with this man about the Book of Mormon, when a young man stopped and said, "wait! You are talking about the Book of Mormon?!" I've been trying to get a new copy of that because i lent my brother mine - and I really enjoyed reading it and felt good. We gave him a copy and were able to talk to his friend as well. This week really taught me that Heavenly Father puts people in our path all around to hear this message, and if we open our mouths and are ready...we will find those who are being prepared!!!
But I'm so gateful to be here in Lodz and LOVE this work. It is seriously the best work ever. I love the people here and Poland. I'm so excited for Sister Bown and the experiences that she is going to have here. The Poland Warsaw mission is the best mission ever! :)

October 22

Hey everyone!!! :) Welp...the big news is that I"m training again!!! :) We got transfer calls last night...and I will be training the new Sister who is coming in, with the seven elders! I'm excited! I had a lot of fun training last time, so I'm sure it will be great. Sister Smithee is going to Wroclaw with Sister Howells, they will be reopening it back up...so that will be awesome. We are both going to miss each other so much, but are excited for this next transfer. Sister Smithee has been such an awesome companion and we have had the best district ever here in Lodz!!! Starszy Tanner and Johnson will be going home - along with the Senior couple - so there will be a lot of changes here...but I know that it will be great whatever happens. This past weekend we were able to go to Warsaw for district conference, with one of our investigators Magda. We think she really enjoyed it, and had a good time talking with the YSA's up there. We have been able to do a lot of less active work here...and the elders last week, right before we went segwaying (yes we rode segways! they were awesome :)) ran into a less active in a book store- she just was like "hey Starszy!" and talked to them for awhile and they got her number. Her name is Ola...and she is so cute and awesome. She joined the church when she was 14...so about 18 years ago...right when the church opened here in Poland...but hasn't been in too good of contact, but we are excited to work with her here...as well as Irena (the other less active). We have been tracting more...we are trying to find some more better areas to tract...for the winter....but we are going to start this transfer with a lot of faith that miracles are waiting to happen.
"Some blessings come soon, some blessings come late, and some blessings don't come until heaven. But those who embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ, they come". Elder Holland. I too know that if we embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ, and become his faithful disciples, that we will be able to experience the blessings that the gospel gives us - and see more peace, happiness, and joy in our lives than we ever thought possible. It's so simple, but yet there are so many distractions in the world that compete for our attention - and pull us away from this. I know that this IS the only way to recieve true happiness in this life, and eternal salvation in the life to come. As elder Holland says, "Don't delay. It's getting late". I know that it is possible through the atonement  - which allows us to repent and to change  - and to become better. It's available to ALL of us.  That is the the gift Heavenly Father has given us :).

But Have a great week, and enjoy the fall weather!!! :) Love you!

**ps...I sent off a postcard for you all last week...so hopefully it will get to you this week :)**

Love always,
Siostra 4c!

October 15th

Czesc!! Well this week started off good...we were able to get in contact with a lady who joined the church ten years ago, and is now wanting to come back! Her name is Irena, and we were able to watch part of the women's conference with her! So we are excited to start helping her, and teaching her more. On Tuesday, we were able to go have a culture night with out district and go out to dinner and see "Fiddler on the Roof", which was really awesome! They did a great job! It was fun listening to it in Polish, although I still didn't understand everything haha, but we got the jist of it. As a district we also had a goal to get twelve lessons this week, and we finished the week off at thirteen! So we know that the Lord blessed us to achieve that goal. We had an open house over the weekend for the church, and handed out a bunch of fliers all week, and did what we call are "white boards", where we take a white board stand out, and have a question or a statement on it, and then contact people around us...usually on nicer, busier streets. But there were a couple people who came...some members who brought their friends. We weren't unfortunately able to meet with Jola this week :( - she now has a new job where she is gone a lot...but we are hoping to find new investigators and are going to continue to have faith to find them. We had a funny experience this week...early Saturday morning we heard this purring noise outside our front door...and so Sister Smithee went to go open it...and a cat ran into our apartment! haha. It then ran under my bed...and then into our bathroom tub...and then we heard a lady calling from the floor above us to find her cat...so we brought it back up to her. It was so funny! haha.
But this is our last full week together until we find out this weekend about transfers! I'm assuming I will stay :). I love it her and am so grateful I got the opportunity to serve with Sister Smithee! We have so much fun together and are always laughing :). Another thing that happened this week...Sister Nielson had a heart attack :/. She will be getting surgery tomorrow morning to put in a fibulator...but she is doing all right. We know that she is being watched over!
But I love all of you and am so grateful for this work!!! It is so amazing, and I know that if we dilligently keep pressing forward and rely on the Savior that we will be able to experience the blessings that this gospel has to offer us.  :).

Have a wonderful week!! Enjoy the pics!!!

October 8th 2012

Hey Family & Friends! I hope that everything is going well and that you had a great time enjoying conference weekend. We were able to watch two sessions of conference and it was so AMAZING!! I loved all of it. Our faces were priceless as we heard the announcement that you can be 18 years old for boys and 19 years old for girls to serve a mission! We were so shocked haha. But I think that it is awesome that they can go when they are almost fresh out of high school. Serving a mission is one of the most incredible and rewarding things I have ever done in my life. You feel joy that can't come in any other way, as you share the message of the restored gospel and see others come more unto Christ. I would encourage anyone who is thinking about going on a mission to do it! You will never regret it, and you will not only be blessing those you serve, but it will bless you and your family, and your future family and posterity forever. I loved Elder Holland's talk! Here are some things that really stuck out to me. "I need disciples. I need them forever. I need someone to preach my gospel. To defend my faith. Ours is NOT a feeble message. It is NOT hopeless. It is the work of the almightly God. It is to change the world." I too know that this message IS a message of hope and happiness. It is what the world needs. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the only antidote for becoming better and reaching our true potential. I know that becoming disciples and choosing Christ over the world will make us the most happy in this life. This is done through reading scriptures, praying, serving others, attending church, developing christ-like attributes, and using the power of the atonement in our lives. No matter what may be in our past - we have the promise that our sins and mistakes "although they may be as crimson, they can be as white as snow". We need to start now to become defenders of the truth. I also liked what Elder Uchtdorf had to say. I agree when he said that we should let ourselves be happy now. Find joy in the journey and not the destination. We are ALWAYS going to be tried and tested. But those who embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ and weave a tapestry of gratitude, will see that life is to be enjoyed amongst the trials we are going through. I love this gospel with all of my heart. It is an honor to be a missionary and to be a representative of Jesus Christ and his restored gospel.  I KNOW that Jesus is the Christ, the redeemer and savior of the world. I know that he still lives and that he will come again, and reign in his glory and fullness. I KNOW that his church has been restored to the earth today and that it is his church: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. I know that he is still calling after us every day and that if we will choose now to come and serve him faithfully, that all will be well with us. Blessings come to those who embrace this message.
This week we were able to get in touch with our investigator Jola, she was away visiting her daughter, but is back now :). We are continuing to contact and teach those about the restoration, and find those who are prepared.
I hope you all have a fantastic week! I pray for you all every day. I hope grandma is doing okay and that she will be able to regain her strength. Let her know that I love her! :).

October 1st

Dzien Dobry!!! It's crazy to think today is officially the 1st of October, but the weather is definately Fall here...and the leaves are beautiful! We had a finding week this week, with lots of contacting, but we were able to meet some awesome people and get some numbers to set up with. SIster Smithee and I both got colds again over the weekend :( but we are now back to healthy again lol! (If you could send me some dayquil and nightquil pills that would be awesome - they don't have really good cold medication here)...but Jola, who we are working with, hasn't been answering...and so we went over to her house to see if everything was okay, but she didn't answer - so we are hoping that she is okay, because she is sick with cancer right now. We are probably going to be going back again this week and ask a neighbor if everything is alright! The Lodz branch just got a returned missionary home, which is awesome! He was serving in the London Mission...but is now back. The branch is excited to have him here. We were able to watch the Relief Society broadcast with Sister Tarasavich on Sunday before we had dinner at their house...(the senior couple who is here) and it was SO good. We are going to be able to watch I think one session of conference this Saturday...but unless we have an investigator present, we have to be proselyting...so we are hoping that we are going to beable to have someone come to it! But things are going well and are moving forward. We worked really hard this week, and are going to try our best to continue to work with all our might to help bring others unto Christ. I'm so grateful for the power of the atonement in my life, and for the power it has to heal us. I know that if we rely on Christ - he will ease our burdens which are put upon us. I have seen the blessings that come from living this gospel, and know that if we continue to live it, everything WILL work out :). Stay awesome and have an AMAZING week! :)

Love always,
Siostra Forsey

September 24th

Hello Family and Friends! Well this week was another awesome week, and we were able to help out with the YSA conference for what was called "Weekend in Lodz". Almost all of the YSA's from the whole country came and had a conference here :). I think there were about 30 who came...but we were able to teach them a lesson about the Plan of Salvation and make "Life Maps" and how focusing on the bigger picture helps us make our everyday choices. It was awesome! Kasia also came and loved it! She had a great time playing games...and eating lunch with everyone. We will probably start teaching her this week :). We were able to meet with Jola and the Elders were able to give her a priesthood blessing to help her have strength and peace in her life. It was really spiritual and peaceful and she felt really good after. We are going to continue to find those who are prepared and to teach everyone we see :). It's getting colder here...cold for September I should say haha...but we will see how this winter is!
But I love you all...and pray for you all. I KNOW that christ lives. That the atonement is real. I know that this is what brings true happiness in this life and in the life to come...and that if we are searching for peace, happiness, rest or joy in this life...the gospel of Jesus Christ is what brings it.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LINCOLN!!! (It's so wierd to think I haven't even met him!?) glad you all had a fun party with him! Time is flying...but I'm going to work my hardest until the end!

Love always,
Siostra 4c!

September 17th

Hello everyone! Well this week is going well and we have had some awesome experiences! We are still teaching Jola - and she is continuing to read the Book of Mormon and to progress...we are going to try and have her get a blessing this week...and then invite her to baptism :). When we were contacting this week, we were able to meet an awesome lady named Barbara - who is interested in meeting with us this week...and set up! Also on Wednesday after English, a new girl named Kasia came and then we invited her to intstitute the next night and she had a blast. she loved it! She said she wants to come to the youth conference this coming weekend! But things are going well, and we are continuing to contat everyday, and try to find more investigators! I love Lodz and the people here. We have an awesome and united district which makes things fun, and we are going to try to work as hard as we can until the end!
I hope you al have a fantastic week :) Love, SIostra 4c

September 10th

Well this week has been good...i've been sick since Thursday night with a really bad cold, so i've been inside mostly. Today I'm having an exchange with Sister Ence...who is coming here to Lodz and then Sister Smithee is going to Katowice until Wednesday. We had zone conference which went really well - and which helped us get pumped up. The weather is starting to feel more like fall now. We have been continuing to meet with Jola last week and she is doing really well. I hope you all have a great week.

August 27th

Hello everyone! Well I am finally in Lodz and am loving it already! Sister Smithee is awesome and we are loving being companions. We have laughed a lot already :). Lodz is a very very poor city...and a lot of the buildings are run down, with really old apartments. But our district is awesome and is really unified, so I'm excited to work hard with them! We don't have any baptismal dates, but we are working with a lady named Jola - and she is so prepared to recieve this message! She is a sweetheart. She knows the Book of Mormon is true, so we will be inviting her to baptism the next time we meet with her. But we are going to make this the best transfer yet and work hard to find those who are prepared. Being a missionary here in Poland has been one of the most rewarding, amazing, and best things I will ever do in this life. I have seen how hard satan works...day and night to keep people from accepting the truth, but at the same time, I have seen how faith and being truly converted to the gospel have won in the end. As it says in the Book of Mormon in Alma, THIS is the time for men to prepare to meet God...
And it is so true. I think everyone, whether they are believing or non believing come to a point in their lives where they want to know their purpose here...what happens after this life...and what happened before this life. We know this, because of the restoration of the gospel. Christs true church is here  upon the earth today...and is led by a prophet. God has always worked the same way...and that is through prophets. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true, and that if anyone will read the Book of Mormon, they too can know that it is true. I know that through Christ and his atonement, we can recieve a forgiveness of our sins. I love this gospel and the feeling of the spirit that it brings to us!
I hope you all have a great week, and remember that Heavenly Father loves you with an infinite love, because we are all his children.
Love, Siostra 4c

August 20th

Welp...I guess I have mixed feelings about this email, but I know that whatever Heavenly Father has in store for me here and on my mission will be for the best. But I am getting transferred to Lodz...which is south of Warsaw...and my new companion will be Sister Smithee! I honestly thought I was staying here in Warsaw...almost 100 pecent sure...but I know that I will go wherever Heavenly Father wants me to go. I cried a lot, knowing that I would leave before I got to see Maria, Adam, and Grayzna be baptized, but I know that miracles are everywhere. I have come to love them so much - and am so grateful for the opportunity I had to teach them! I know that Sister Holmgren and her new companion Sister Masters will do a wonderful job continuing to help them prepare! I'm sure I will be writing them a lot  - to see how they are doing :).
So these next few days I will be busy meeting with people here for the last time. I love Warsaw! I love the people that we see in our area everyday - and am going to miss it so much. I"ve heard great things about Lodz - and look forward to working hard to help more people accept this message!
Have a great week!
Love, Siostra 4c

August 13th

Hey all! Sounds like you had a fun week - and that you had a great b-day Kayla! Happy Bday again! I'm glad that you were able to have a luncheon in honor for mom. It sounds like it went really well...I was thinking  about her yesterday, and how it is hard to believe that it has already been a year. Time has gone by so fast, but I know that she is with us every step of the way.  :). Welp things are going well here in Warsaw, we are still working with our investigators and were able to set a baptismal date with our investigator Grazyna for October 6th, for her to work towards. We were able to teach her about the plan of salvation which went really well and she said that she hopes it's true! I know that she will be able to find that answer. We were also able to meet with a couple this week - and they committed to read and pray about it. They were definately interested and looking for peace in their lives. Transfers are next week - so i hope i can stay at least one more transfer! We will see what happens though, and I know that I'll go where ever I'm meant to be.
We have contacted so many prepared people this week...more prepared then I have ever met on my mission, but they were not open to reading the Book of Mormon, which made us so sad...but we testified and told them of the truthfulness of it. But miracles are happening still everyday and we are able to witness them first hand! It's awesome! I love every second of this work...and will cherish these next 6 or so  months I have left! Love you all!
Love, Siostra 4c

August 6th

Hello everyone! Well this week was a good week and also a trying week...but we were able to work out some good things with both Maria and Adam who we are still preparing for baptism. Maria's daughter was really concerned about her joining the church and was worried it was a sect - but Maria has been trying to re-assure her that it is true and good...so she wants her daughter to see a baptism first, so Maria has postponed it until the end of September. But I know that it will be good for her to have support from her family and that she will be able to also be an example to them! Adam also has postponed his baptism to the end of September. His family also has a similar situation - with his mom  being a member but his dad and sister not supporting him. His mom really wanted them to be at the baptism - not  even sure that they would come - but we fasted and prayed that their hearts would be softened and they agreed to come in September with some more time. So that is the status on that! :) But we are working with our other ivestigator Grazyna who has come to church twice and is reading, so we will invite her to baptism this week! We are also meeting with a family who recently experienced a death of a child in their family who we met in the park - and the mom really wants to meet after she has read some of the Book of Mormon and prayed about it. So we are praying that we will be led by the spirit to know what to say and how to help them recieve answers to their questions.
I'm so grateful for this chance to serve a mission, and have learned and grown so much. I have learned more about what faith really is, and what it means to be truly converted to the gospel of Jesus Christ. It's amazing how true doctrine understood fixes behavior faster than a study on behavior fixes behavior. When we understand the atonement and WHY and WHAT the savior did for us, we have a desire to do what is good continually and to share it with those around us. The savior atoned for us because he loves us. He loves us so much and knows exactly what we are going through, when no one else does. He descended below us all - and their is nothing that we can't be forgiven of. NOW is the time to prepare. NOW is the time to change our bad habits and to truly come unto Christ and be perfected in him. This life is the time to prepare to meet God.
I know that great blessings and feelings of peace and comfort come to us as we live the gospel.
I love you all and pray for you all! Stay awesome and make this week the best! :) Smile :)
Love always, Siostra 4c!

July 30th

Hey! I hope you all had a great week. This week we were able to find and contact some more people who are interested which is awesome! We contacted this couple in the park who were going through a really challenging time in their lives, and were looking for peace and hope...so we were able to exchange numbers and set up with them! We also were able to finally get a hold of some more potential investigators and set up for this week as well...so we will see what happens! Maria is doing well...but she might delay her baptism a couple of weeks since her daughter is here. So we will see. Adam our other investigator who is nine is also unsure now if he wants to go through with it because his dad and sister arent as supportive but his mom is. So they are leaving it up to him to decide. I know that with prayer and fasting that they will be able to make the right decision! But we are continuing to work hard and striving to find those who are ready.
Today were going to the uprising museum so it should be cool to see! Anyways sorry this is so short but my computer restarted in the middle of everything! Have a great week!

July 23rd

Dzien Dobry! I hope you all had a fun time at the beach! It sounds like things went well :). I'm glad you all got to spend some time together. HAPPY 18th BIRTHDAY NATE!!! You are awesome bud!!!! I hope you do soemthing fun! Its crazy to think that you are 18!
Things are going well here in Warsaw! We met with Agnieszka from France a couple times this week before she heads back to France, and she knows that the Book of Mormon is true, and wants to share this message with her family and children :). We were able to get the information for the missionaries in France and the church address. Miracle :). She is such an amazing person, and siad that the world would be a much better place if people read the Book of Mormon :).
We were able to meet with a new investigator named Graszyna who we met at the park! She came to church on Sunday and really enjoyed it. She said that before we contacted her she was thinking about God and religion, and said she thinks that it might be a sign :).
A lady also showed up at church who had recieved a flier from us, and was really impressed that we actually lived what we believe. She said she would be back next week, and that she wants more fliers to give her friends and family. Cool stuff! :)
We met with Maria this week, and had a good lesson with her. Her daughter is coming this week...so earlier today we went over to her house and helped clean some things. I love her so much! She is so fun, and love the gospel and people so much. She is amazing.
We were so close to reaching the standard of excellence this week...so we are trying for it again this week! :). It was really fun trying to achieve it and a little crazy haha :).
On Saturday we were able to do a culture night and go see an opera in Lazenki Park (a really pretty park in Warsaw)...and it was really good!
But I just want to let you all know that I'm so grateful for this gospel and the power it has to make us so happy in this life. Take time to enjoy the little things each day...and i know that we will see how much Heavenly Father has blessed us with. He loves us so much and we truly are his children.
And now, my beloved bretheren, i would that ye should come unto Christ, who is the Holy One of Israel, and partake of his salvation, and the power of his redemption. Yea, come unto him, and offer your whole souls as an offering unto him, and continue in fasting and praying, and endure to the end and as the Lord liveth ye will be saved. Omni 1- 26
Have a fantastic week!

July 16th

Hello! Glad to hear you are having a fun time on the East Coast! Hope you all have a great week out there. Well things are going well here this week! We met an awesome new investigator named Agnieszka - unfortunately she is only gonna be here another two weeks - because she lives in France, but she is from Poland and is here for work. Last Monday night when we were planning we felt prompted to contact down this one street, and we met her the next day! She was so excited about the Book of Mormon, and is so in-tune with the spirit. Prayer plays a big role in her life, and she really is searching for something more. We were able to teach her about the restoration, and she said it would make her so happy if she could know that this was true! So we are going to have another lesson again with her tomorrow. She is great :). On Sunday after church we met with Maria and taught her about the Law of Tithing. She agreed to pay it after she was baptized and saw how the Lord would bless her enormously if she did.
But Time here is flying...and it's crazy to think that the summer is half way over almost! We have been working hard and are seeing Heavenly Father bless us and the people here as we find the ones that are ready to accept this message. Missionary work is the best, and I feel so grateful for the opportunity that I have everyday to be a representative of Jesus Christ and to share my testimony with others about it. The gospel changes us...into something far greater and better than we can imagine. I know it is because of Jesus Christ and his atonement...and the power of repentance. We are able to be forgiven - and to feel 100 percent clean again. It is an amazing gift that we ALL have. This life is so short and just "a moment in time". I know that if we decide right now to do the things that will help us become closer to Christ and his gospel that we will forever be grateful for our decision, and we will see the blessings the gospel brings to us and how it enriches our lives. Prayer is essential, and is gives us direct communication with Heavenly Father. I know that he will answer us if we pray to him...with our whole hearts. I love this gospel and I love the people here in Poland!
Have a fantastic week on the beach! Love always, Siostra 4c :)

July 9th

Heyyo! Happy 4th of July this past week and Happy 25th Birthday Megan!!!! :) I sent you a little something, so keep on the lookout for the mail :). I love ya!
Well this week we were able to meet with Maria a couple of times....and I love her more and more each day! There was a women's conference here in Poland  this past weekend, and she was able to go to it, and really liked it. She came to church on Sunday, and we will be meeting more with her this week :). It's the best feeling, to see those you teach come closer to Christ and let the power of the atonement change them.
We are continuing to contact a lot in parks - and have been able to have some cool experiences. The other day we stopped a mom - and this 23 year old young man overheard us and waited until we were done to talk to us. He was so excited to read the Book of Mormon and "pretended to run off with it" until he found out it was free haha. But we were able to exchange info with him, so hopefully the elders can start teaching him! After we were done talking to him, the guard at the park asked us if he could read some information about our church, and we were also able to tell him about the restoration and the Book of Mormon. I know that the Lord blesses us if we open our mouths and talk to everyone about this message.
It has been really hot this past week, and my legs got a lot of bug bites! :( but we are now spraying them like crazy before we go out haha.
But I hope you all have a fantastic time in North Carolina! I'm a tad jealous haha. I'm sure it will be great :). Glad to hear you had a good weekend in Richfield!
**I'll write you all some letters this week :) Have a great week!**

July 2nd

Hello everyone! It seems hard to believe that it is already July, but things are going well here in Polska! We had a couple lessons with Maria this week...we taught her the Word of Wisdom - which we knew was going to be a harder lesson, but the spirit was definately there. She doesn't have a hard problem with the coffee or tea, or smoking, but she likes her glass of wine once in a while...but we promised her that if she would live it that she would be able to enjoy the blessings promised from it! and who doesn't want those blessings!? :) As it says in D&C we are promised blessings of health, and also blessings of a clear mind...which helps us have the spirit with us more. I know that if we are willing to exercise our faith and obey all of God's commandments, we will see our lives in a new light. It's amazing how much the gospel gives us in return from LIVING it. But yesterday she came to church, and it was fast and testimony meeting, and she felt the spirit so strong there. We then had lunch over at her house...and read some of the Book of Mormon with her. She is awesome and I love her so much!
We were also able to meet with Adam and teach him the gospel of Jesus Christ - faith, repentance, baptism, the gift of the holy ghost, and enduring to the end. It was a good lesson - and we tried to be creative by using different object lessons haha.
We have been dropping a couple of our investigators because they arent' progressing, or are too busy right now...but we are definately finding some awesome people! We contacted a lot of people who were interested in the message of the restoration...this one family who definately had a light about them told us they were actually searching for a religion to join (just having a new born baby) and when we told them about the restoration, they said it sounded too good to be true. Another lady we contacted last night said that she thinks it is very possible the Book of Mormon is true, and that she wanted to see if she could have another one because her daughter is also searching for truth. It's amazing how the Lord prepares people and how he guides us to them.
I know there will one day be a temple here, the and the blessings from it will flow to the people here in Poland.
We are laying the foundation of a great work :)
As we contact people everywhere we go, everyday...on buses, trams, sidewalks, bustops, parks, elevators...I have realized the power of our testimonies - and how with the spirit, we can help people see the truthfulness of the gospel. We can't convince anyone, but the spirit can. The role of the Book of Mormon is the keystone...because I know that if anyone reads it with sincere intent to know if it is from God, and with a desire to act upon that answer, that they will know it is true. I too have read it, and know that it is true with all my heart. I love this gospel. I love our savior, Jesus Chirst. I know that God has restored his church to the earth today, and that we have a living day prophet who leads and guides us. :).
Stay Amazing! And make this week the best!!
Love, Siostra 4c

June 25th--Melissa's 22nd Birthday

STO LAT! :) That is a birthday song in Polish haha. But It is true, I'm officially 22! craziness! Thankyou for all of your emails! :) It was great to hear from all of you, and it definately made me feel loved :). Well this week was an awesome week needless to say. We had an awesome lesson with our investigator Maria, and she set a baptismal date for August 18th, along with Adam (the little kid we are teaching - his mom is a member). So exciting stuff to look forward to in the next months! Also, we have met some great people here this week, and were able to meet with a lady named Sylvia yesterday...and she said her daughter would be interested in this message too. So I think we are going to have another lesson with them tonight!
The weather has been really good...not tooo hot, but not cold! (ha obviously since it is summer). But I'm looking forward to this week....and the lessons that we have set up! We contact in a lot of parks in our area, which has been great - since a lot people are there throughout the day.
The EuroCup is still here, but I think it ends in the next week or so....but we haven't had too many tourists in our area.
But missionary work is the best! It is one of the greatest blessings in my life...and I know that it will affect my life for eternity. It has given me so much more perspective of our potential, and who we can become. The gospel can change us...and that is because of the atonement of our savior, Jesus Christ :).
I love you all! Have a fabulous week, day, and I will be praying for you! Enjoy the pics! I made a cake...not the most creative one haha....but hopefully it should taste good :).
Love ya!

June 16th

Hello everyone! First off, HAPPY FATHERS DAY DAD!!! :) I hope that  you had a fantastic day yesterday. I was thinking about you! Thanks for being such an incredible father and example to me and to our family. I feel so blessed to have such an amazing dad who is strong in the gospel - and who loves and supports his family. Thankyou! :). A member in the ward here sent a video of us yesterday...I'm not sure if you got it in the email account..but I hope that you had a wonderful day!
Things here are going good...a few sad things but a few exciting things. We were supposed to meet with Ola this past week, and she finally texted us and said that her parents have forbid her to meet with us :(. But she is so eager to learn more, so we hope with prayer and fasting that things will work out. They always do in the end :). Monike, who was another amazing investigator also said that she is not ready or open to this in her life anymore :/...but we know down the road that she will be.
BUT THE GOOD NEWS! We felt impressed when planning one night to go contacting in this one park, that we usually don't go to during the day...but since we were close by it from having other plans we decided to follow that impression. When we got there we noticed a lady sitting on a bench close up by the water, and we felt impressed to go contact her. When we started to go that direction she had gotten up and started going the other way. But I decided to walk after her and talk to her. We told her that we knew that God had a plan for her here in this life. She admitted that she didn't know what direction her life should take and that she was trying to be a good person. We were able to teach her about the restoration and about the BOok of Mormon and she said that she had prayed to know what to do with her life, and this was not a coincidence! She was SO excited to read the Book of Mormon and to find out more and meet. She is around 35 - and her name is Addita. She is great!
Another cool experience happened when we contacted a lady who lived in bellvue, Washington for 7 yrs.! We were able to exchange information and hopefully meet with her this week as well.
I can't believe it is almost July! Time her goes by so fast. It's scary to think that I'm more than half way done with my mission! But I"m excited for the things that are happening here, and know that miracles are happening every day - if we open our eyes to them.
It's crazy to think I will be 22 next monday! Time really does fly!...
Anyways, I hope that you all have another great weeek :)

June 11th

Hello family and friends! Hope you are all doing well. Things are going great this week, and the Lord has definately been blessing us. We had an amazing lesson with one of our investigators Maria - who is so awesome! When we taught her last week we invited her to baptism but she still wasn't so sure she was ready. So we told her to read and pray for an answer again to know if the Book of Mormon was true. This time we met with her she said she knew it was true and we committed her to baptism. unfortunately she is going on vacation for awhile, but we are shooting for august for her baptism! :). Another cool story is that we were on the metro a young man around 27 yrs. old noticed our name badges and asked us if we were the mormon missionaries. He got off at our stop to continue to talk to us...apparantely he and his friends had taken a trip to the US and had stopped off in utah and they had seen the temple and the Joseph Smith movie . He said he was very impressed with everything that he had seen and that the people were very wise. We were able to explain to him the restoration and gave him a Book of Mormon to read. We exchanged information and told him about the Youth Program. It's crazy how stuff like that happens because we were out visiting a less active and we took a completely different route home then we normally would. We ended missing a bus for another one which took us to a completely different metro. It's awesome how Heavenly Father knows where you need to be.
We met with a former couple who have a little boy, and they are awesome! They moved to amsterdam as well as have lived in the US before, but are now back in Poland. We had a great meeting with them, and we are going to try to set up a dinner appointment with one of the families in the ward.
We are also teaching on the of the members sons, because she is the only member in her family - but he is about 9 yrs. old, so we will probably invite him to be baptized soon :). It's fun teaching little kids and thinking of creative ways to help them understand the gospel :).
On sunday I was able to translate for Young Women's, because there are 2 american girls in there, which went pretty good. It's wierd to think that I'm translating Polish! But the gift of tongues really does work, and I know that Heavenly Father blesses us to understand what is being said.
I'm so grateful that I have decided to serve a mission and that I have been called to serve here in the Poland Warsaw mission. My testimony of this gospel has grown in so many ways, and I understand more fully the importance of being truly converted to this gospel...ALL the days of our lives. This life is so short in the grand perspective of things and I know that we are here on this earth to learn and grow into what Heavenly Father wants us to become. The gospel is what brings happiness into our lives. I know that each of us in our lives will at some point go through a time where we wonder if God has forgotten us, But I know that he is still aware of us and that he loves us as his children more than we could ever imagine. I know that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Redeemer. I know that his church is restored on the earth, and that the Book of Mormon is evidence of this. I know that there is life after this, and that we can be with our families forever.
I love you all and pray for you!
Stay strong! The lord is on your side :).
Love always, Siostra 4c

June 4th

Czesc! Happy June to you all! I can't believe that it is already here. It's crazy how fast time is going, and how in three months I will have been out a year! wow. But it sounds like the weather has been really hot on your end, suprisingly this week it has gotten a lot cooler...it feels more like fall weather...but I'm sure it will change back to warm/hot weather pretty soon :). Well this week we were able to meet with one of our investigators Maria - who she had been out of town for about a month (she went to go visit her daughter who was in Ireland) and we met with her over the weekend and had a great lesson with her about the Plan of Salvation. She said she would be baptized if she came to know it was true...after reading and praying more about it. But we are working towards the date July 14th for her. She is great!
We met some awesome other people while contacting, and had this neat experience in the park with this lady who at first didn't want anything to do with us...and then we started asking her more about her and her faith...which led her to want to find out more about us - and she ended up wanting a Book of Mormon at the end and then she gave us some chocolate in exchange haha. We then saw her in the park two days later again and she said that she had read a lot of the Book of Mormon and that she might come to church on Sunday. It was cool to see how asking people inspired questions leads them to want to find out more about us.
We are working with some less actives as well, they are all so awesome! We are trying to get them to church, but it varies every week.
We should be having some great meetings this week - and things to look forward to.
I know that this is the Lord's work. I know that his true church is here upon the earth today - and that just like in old times, we have a prophet who leads and guides us. Miracles still happen all around us. I know that faith exercised with exact obedience brings forth these miracles. Never think that it is too late to use the atonement in your lives. It is here for us NOW. This gospel is true, and nothing will ever be able to convince me otherwise, because of the  power of the Holy Ghost that testifies it to me everyday. Become converted to the gospel and to  it's teachings. It will change you and help you become strong and faithful - and endure to the end! This is what real happiness is...never loose sight!
I love you all! And pray for you everyday! Good luck with everything :). Thankyou for the emails!

May 28th

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful week! :) Things are going just great here in good ol' Poland! I am loving it here more and more every second! We had an awesome week with lots of great things happening. We met with a new investigator that we contacted about a week and a half ago, named Ania, and she is GOLDEN! She said she is definately searching for something more in her life...and she is such an awesome person. Someone that could definately build the church here in Poland. We also met with antoher investigator who is a girl named Kinga - she is about 17...and she is definately willing to read and pray about the Book of Mormon :). We had a lot of less active lessons....and also met alot of new investigators this week in the park! They have the best parks here :)....lots of happy families and awesome people!
We are going to meet with Ola this week on Thursday and another one of our investigators named Barbara.
Also! We have been meeting with this former family...and they came to church on Sunday! Miracles I'm telling you! There was so many people here in church on sunday because all of the Young Women in Poland got together and had a conference...and they all came to church on Sunday - so it was awesome to see them all. They did a special musical number during sacrament meeting.
The language is coming! Honestly Heavenly Father is blessing me so much! I love my mission! It is so awesome to be able to communicate with these people now that I can talk better...and understand at least half of what they are saying ;) haha. It's awesome for real though. I love being a trainer!!!! It's so much fun :).
But overall the weather is dandy and sunny - there are ice cream shops on every corner, and people are happy :).
I love this gospel so much. It REALLY does bring happiness that lasts. It's amazing to think that we have something that will never change...and that we can always pray and recieve an answer...and be guided by Heavenly Father every day. He knows whats best for us...and he is just waiting for us to go to him in prayer.
STAY STRONG!!! I love you all! :)
Thankyou for the pictures! The headstone looks really nice and special. I know that mom will appreciate it :). I haven't heard if they have a day in Poland like in the US...but I will have to find out. Have a wonderful day :). Lots of love,
Siostra 4c!!

May 21st

Hello everyone!! Or I guess I should say Dzien Dobry! Well I am officially a trainer, and things are going great :). My nem companion is Sister Holmgren from Logan, Utah - and she is a sweetheart, and so awesome! We have had some pretty cool experiences this week, and I know that Heavenly Father is blessing me to be able to understand what people are saying, (especially since people her LOVE to talk haha) but I know that as I continue to study and improve that I will be guided to know what to say. We were able to have some great meetings this week...
We met with this lady named Barbara who the elders tracted into, and the lesson went really well...we taught her about the plan of salvation and committed her to read at least a chapter from the Book of Mormon a day. I think she has a lot of potential, and know that if she reads and prays she will be able to recieve an answer. We also had the chance to meet this awesome mom in the park, and she was so happy and set up to meet sometime!
Some other cool experiences...we were on a bus, visiting a less active on Thursday, and when we got off we heard someone say "hey are you the mormon missionaries?" we turned around and it was a member named Abi who is from India who had been baptized a while ago...but while on the bus he was thinking of the church and how he wanted to get back in contact with the missionaries - but he didn't have their numbers. And then lo and behold we were there on the bus and were able to get him in contact with them! It's so cool how Heavenly Father knows where you need to be, and how if we are in tune with spirit, he will guide us there.
We have been meeting also with this lady from Ukraine - named Natalia - and her first language is Russian - she speaks a little bit of English and Polish - so we are trying to set up a meeting this week with one of the members that speaks Russian so she can better understand things.
This week we are going to meeting with Ola on Thursday! So that should be exciting :). I love Ola.
We are working with lots of others...some of them can only meet every other week, or once a week....but I know that Heavenly Father is preparing people for us to teach.
The weather is sunny, and it is getting more hot - I can't believe it is almost JUNE! craziness! Time literally has flown. It feels like I just got here haha.
But I know that Heavenly Father loves each and everyone of us, and that if we are obedient that we will see miracles happen in our lives. I think being on a mission has taught me the importance of setting goals -and working towards them - and how if we do our part, Heavenly Father will help us achieve the impossible! I know that if we read the Book of Mormon and the Bible every day that we will recieve answers to our prayers, and notice a change in our lives. It is amazing what inspiration comes thorugh scriptures! I love it. I know that God has a plan for us in this life, and that we can find true happiness that lasts through his gospel. :). Try it! I LOVE YOU ALL!
Thanks for your emails and love and support!

May 14th

Hello Family & Friends! I hope you all had a great week/weekend! Things are going just dandy here in Warsaw...and some changes are happening here as well. I AM TRAINING! wow! But I am so excited. Me and Sister Mann had an incredible transfer together and I am so grateful for her example and the love that she has for the people here in Poland. She is an outstanding missionary and I know that she will be great wherever the Lord needs her to be. She is now transfering to Lodz! But Me and Sister Sheahan are companions for a couple days together until our trainees arrive on Wednesday :).
But this week was a great week, and we had some meetings with some new people, as well as some other investigators! The work is moving forward, and great things are coming to Poland.
Sorry this is such a shorter email...but it was great to talk to you all yesterday! I love you all so much :). Keep staying awesome and positive, full of hope and Heavenly Father will help you every step of the way. Have an awesome week!

May 7th

Hello!! I hope you all are doing well! :) It sounds like you had a great time in Richfield with Grandpa's Birthday! Happy Birthday Grandpa! I love you! :). And I'm sure you did great in your play Mckayla! you would make an awesome "who"! haha. Since we know the grinch so well ;). I'm sure you did great trying out for cheer too, and know matter what happens Heavenly Father knows what is best for you...and maybe something better will happen if things don't work out with it :). But great job! How are you doing Nate!? I'm excited to talk to you all on Mother's day this week. I know that this is a special time to remember our mothers...and I know personally that I have been blessed to have an amazing example of a special mother in my life. I will always remember mom as someone who truly examplified the life of Christ, and who truly lived the gospel to its fullest. She had so much love and charity to all those she knew and especially as a mom, she loved her children so much and taught us the gospel :). I'm so grateful for her, and hope that one day I can be like her as a mother. :).
This week has been a great week and we have been meeting with four new investigators! Since it was a holiday week here in Poland, some of our other investigators were out of town, but we are hoping to meet with them all this week, so it should be a busy week ahead of us!
The weather has been really nice last week, but yesterday it got a little bit cooler, and we went out to go visit a less active, and in the span of like two minutes it started pouring buckets of rain! It was crazy! haha. Me and sister Mann looked like we had just jumped into a pool with our clothes on...needless to say we went back and changed lol. I wish I could have gotten it on camera.
But I love you all! Miracles are happening in the Poland Warsaw mission, and I know that with faith anything is possible! :) Love, siostra 4c!

April 30th

Hey czesc! This week was such an amazing week! We are meeting with so many people and are having so many lessons! It's great. We were able to meet with Ola (the girl who is 17) three times this week. I love her so much! SHE IS AWESOME! She is searching for something more in her life...and last night we were able to invite her over to the Staples (member's in our ward) house and have dinner. It was a great experience...we shared a lot from Ether 12 on faith, and talked about how if we exercise our faith, we will see things happen. It's a decision that we have to make. Later we called her and she asked when we could meet again! say what!? haha. She is great. We are meeting with this couple named Piotr and Klara, they aren't married, but they are not opposed to the idea of getting married either. But we were able ot meet with them yesterday, and they are reading the Book of Mormon and keeping ommittments! exciting stuff happening. Maria, who we have been meeting with, is going to Ireland for about a month, so we will probably meet with here when she gets back, but she is past Alma in the Book of Mormon and is loving it. Investigators are progressing...!
Some funny stories....this week we got a call from someone who asked us if we had any "krolikis" which means bunnies in Polish...and Sister Mann didn''t know what that word meant, so she was like '"hang on a sec. let me look it up"...and they were like "you don't know what krolikis are!?"...and then they asked who we were and we said "The sisters" haha...we got three other calls that day from people...apparantly there was an add in the paper with our number on it...instead of the right one...funny stuff. lol.
But it has been super warm this week...lots of sunshine...happy people...and lots of meetings!
the Poland Warsaw mission is the Best! I Love it!!!
Enjoy the sunshine! Love you all!

April 23rd

Hey Czesc!
This week was such an amazing week and the Lord has been pouring out blessings upon us everyday. Last Sunday Sister Mann and I both decided to fast to help us during this week, and I know that our prayers were answered. One of the incredible miracles that occured, was that we got a phone call from this lady named Beata who we have tried to reach in the past (she was a former with a baptismal date), but had stopped meeting with the missionaries for over a couple of years because she was too busy to meet. After we had prayed on Tuesday morning, asking Heavenly Father to help us have the opportunity to teach more people that day, the phone rang and she asked if we could meet that day! We had such an amazing lesson with her, and she said that she was waiting for a time like this in her life, where she had more time to meet and really learn more about this. Another experience was on Wednesday night, after we were teaching english, Piotr (who is in our english class and a former investigator) asked if his girlfriend Klara could meet with us! We had a great meeting with them, and they came to part of church on Sunday. We met with our other investigator Maria during the week, and she is reading the Book of Mormon and is now past second Nephi – and also came to sacrament meeting on Sunday. Many more miracles happened each day, and I know that the Lord has a plan for these people and I’m so grateful to be used as an instrument in his hands to help them come unto Christ. Another tender mercy was one night when I was praying, I asked Heavenly Father to help us know how to help these wonderful people and what they needed. After praying I then opened my scriptures and landed on the verse mosiah 16:15  where it says “teach them that redemption cometh through Christ...”. I know that this was an answer to my prayer and revelation from Heavenly Father.
We have also been meeting with alot of less actives this week, and they ALL came to church on Sunday!! There was a total of 80 people at church on Sunday, which is the number they need for three months consistently to build another chapel here in Warsaw! So awesome.
We are going to meet with Ola and Marina again this week...and some other new people!
Missionary work is so awesome! We taught 22 lessons this week...and I know that it is because Heavenly Father has blessed us and is using us as instruments in his hands.
I love Poland, I love the people. Missionary work is the best thing ever :).
Remember that with Heavenly Father, nothing is impossible. Nothing.
I love you all!
Siostra 4c :)

April 15th

Czesc! I hope you all are having a great week! This week was a good week here in  Warsaw...we were able to meet with some new people which is always an exciting thing to do :). We met with a new investigator that we found from our area book - a lady named Maria who has come to our english class a couple of times. But we were able to watch with her the movie about the restoration, and she felt the spirit really strong and committed to read the Book of Mormon and pray about it! So awesome news. She says she has been searching for something more in her life for a really long time, so we hope that she will continue to want to learn more about the plan that God has for her.
We also met with a man named Adam who we contacted on the street last week. He isn't a too believing person, but he also said that he would experiment and put it to the test, and asked if his wife could come too....which of course we said yes! haha.
We weren't able to meet with Ola or Marina this week because they were both super busy with school and everything, so we are hoping that this week they will have time...because they are both awesome girls.
Our power went out this week on Monday...and it took us a couple days to find the box to turn it back on...so we planned in the dark a couple of times over a flashlight. It was kind of funny haha.
Yesterday we got invited to have lunch with the Jensen's and then Sister Sheet's (a senior sister who was here) she left today I think back to the states...she actually lives in Highland believe it or not! We then got invited to eat at Katie and Michal's who are an awesome young couple here....they met at BYU - Michal is from Wroclaw! But it was a fun day.
We are looking forward to a busy week and lots of meetings this week!
Conrad was able to get baptized on Saturday which was awesome!...even though I didn't see it I heard it went great! :).
Exciting stuff happening in Poland!
I'm so grateful for this gospel and I know that without a doubt it is true! I know that God has a plan for us and that Jesus atoned and died for us :)

April 9th-- Happy Easter!

Dzien Dobry! I hope you all had a fantastic Easter and are now having a great little holiday break! :). Well things are going well here in Warsaw...it has actually been a little bit colder this week wierdly...but today it is pretty nice, so hopefully it means that Spring is staying. It's crazy having holiday's in Poland because everything usually closes down for the weekend and the day after...when me and sister Mann went running yesterday morning there was literally no one on the streets haha. But today everyone is back to normal! But we had a good Easter and week ourselves, we got invited with the other three sets of Elders in Warsaw to go over to the Picketts house, who are an American couple living here for three years for his job, and we were able to have a big brunch and share a little message with them. It was a lot of fun! This past week we were able to meet with a lot of less-actives and some members and share a little message with them about the resurrection...and I personally am so grateful for this time - and hope that we always that remember CHRIST LIVES! And that we will all be resurrected too - and that we can live with our families forever! It is such an Amazing blessing that we have been given. I am so grateful for Christ and for everything that he has done for me in my life. Being on a mission - and being able to continually study the scriptures and learn more of him and how much he loves the people here and everywhere thoughout the world has made this weekend extra special to celebrate and remember that he does live. and that he IS the light of the world. and that all those who come into him will find rest and peace and eternal happiness. It's so simple, but often we forget that it really will bring us true happiness. Also being on my mission I have realized how important it is to daily reconvert ourselves to the gospel. We always hear that praying, reading our scriptures everday, and going to church will make us happy...but it is exactly what keeps us converted...because satan is trying so hard to make us forget how we feel and have other things take priority. But I know that doing these things every day will make all the difference and that we really can find TRUE happiness, happiness that lasts by doing so!
This week we were able to meet with Ola and Marina who were doing the non-smoking program...and they made it through it! They are so awesome! They wanted to know more about what we believed and came with a long list of questions...that we tried answering the best we could...with Elder and Sister Jensen's help (they are so amazing!). But they are reading the Book of Mormon, and we are having another lesson with them again on Friday :). They have so much potential! Oksana who we set a baptismal date with is going to be taught by the other sisters now, because we just found out that she is in their area, but we are excited for her, and will continue to hopefully see her around! She is great :). We are working with a girl named Agnieszka who we see about twice a week or three times...we go to her work and teach her little lessons. But she is atheist...but is slowly starting to open up more. We are praying for inspiration to know how to help her have a spiritual experience, and I know that with time that she will be able to notice the spirit in her life.
We are doing well and are excited for the week ahead of us! Warsaw is such an awesome place! I think Andziej who we found in Katowice got baptized this past weekend...and Konrad is supposed to get baptized this coming Saturday! If you could send me some pics from the blog that would be great! :)
we taught 17 lessons this week, so things are looking bright!
"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me".

Love, siostra 4c! Stay AWESOME!

April 2nd

Hello Family & Friends! I hope that you all had a wonderful week - especially watching conference this past weekend. We had an awesome week ourselves, and are looking forward to the great week ahead of us. We had a lot of miracles that we were able to take part in, and we know that Heavenly Father is blessing us to be instruments in his hands. On Tuesday we called Sara, the girl who came to institute, and she said that all of a sudden her life got so complicated - and that she wouldn't have any time to meet :(. We knew that Satan was working hard on her, and we told her to pray for direction because we know that this message will be worth everything. We haven't been able to get in touch with her yet, but we are keeping her in our prayers because she is AMAZING and I know that Heavenly Father will help her. But another miracle came when we met with one of the less actives in our ward...she brought her sister in law (Oksana) to the meeting and we had another lesson with her on Friday and committed her to be baptized! She said she would work towards it and that she would read the Book of Mormon and pray about it. We set a date for May 6th :). We are excited to keep meeting with her! On Thursday we were able to meet with two girls (they are about 16) who we met on a bus...who wanted to come to our stop-smoking program...so we met with them on Thursday and taught them the program. They are meeting with us throughout the week and they are interested in hearing the message of the gospel as well! :) They are awesome! On Saturday we were on our way over to the chapel, and in front of the Bakery on the corner of where we are, we noticed a man who was shaking....and he started to have a seizure...and so me and Sister Mann had to help him role on his side so he wouldn't choke...and then we got another mann to call the ambulence...but we were grateful that we were able to be there to help...and we were able to talk to his wife and leave with her information about the church and others who were helping us. It was a crazy but neat experience to be a part of. We are praying that he is okay. But we had 11 lessons this week, which is awesome, and we are looking forward to meeting with many more people this week! :)
We were able to watch the Saturday after noon and sunday morning sessions of conference which was great!
anyways love you all! my time is out! :) haha. talk to you next week....and have a great easter!! :)

March 26

Hello family & friends!! Another great week here in Warsaw! First off to tell you more about the area here...we are having lots of meetings here with potential investigators, investigators, less active members, and members...so it's awesome! We are still contacting some too, and have been making lots of calls to set up for this coming week - and it's looking like a week full of meetings! :). We are still teaching english - this time on Wednesday nights...and the weather is getting warmer here too. Me and Sister Mann are still running outside in a close by park in the morning - so that has been fun to start off our days since the weather is nice!
This week we had an amazing lesson with a girl named Sara who contacted the mission office because she wanted to come to institute (she found out about it in Germany from some of her LDS friends there)...but we set up with her and had an AMAZING first lesson with her on Friday  - and she said that the restoration makes sense to her, and that she know that God has a plan for her and that there is a reason why we met! so awesome! She is eager to learn more...so we are going to meet with her again on Wednesday! Miracle!!!
Nina, who is around 18, who had a baptismal date - hasn't been able to meet with us yet - but we are going to go out and see her this week hopefully a couple of times. They have a youth center at the church here that is open mostly throughout the day for youth to come...and the Jensen's (a senior couple from Alpine, Utah :)) are there! They are awesome!
But We have been having some less active lessons and recent convert lessons as well, which has been great. We met with a girl named Marcia, who is from Haiti and is going to school here. She has such a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and this gospel.
But this coming weekend is General Conference - which we are hoping we will be able to go to for a session if we have an investigator there...but I encourage all of you to watch it! It is such an amazing blessing that we have to hear from a prophet who recieves direct revelation from God for us in these times. I promise that if you go or watch it with a question(s) in mind that they will ALL be answered. It's amazing how the spirit works! :)
But I love you all and am excited for this awesome week ahead of us!
The Poland Warsaw Mission is incredible! My polish is coming along...and Sister Mann is THE BEST! I love her.

March 19th--First Week In Warsaw

Hello Family and Friends!!!  I am officially in Warsaw and am loving it here :). My new companion Sister Mann is awesome and we have been working hard! We live on the south side of Warsaw and are in a ward with half polish/half english speakers so we get the best of both worlds haha.We are working with a girl named Nina (around 18 years old) who is committed to be baptized within the next few weeks, and we are going to have a lesson with her later tonight. Last week we taught a girl named Ewa who is around our same age, and she is progressing as well...and speaks perfect english! We met with a couple less actives and have passed out so many Book of Mormons within these past 5 days than I ever have in my and her mission so far. It's awesome!
We live right down the street from the chapel...buirow...which is nice and convenient to have lessons there. We live about 10 minutes from the center of Warsaw so we take a tram underground to get groceries and do email and stuff.
The polish is coming...I'm learning more everyday...and it gets easier to speak the more you speak it. like they say, practice makes perfect! We are both excited for this transfer and are having lots of faith to find, teach, and baptize!
Anyways I have to go because my time is almost up, but I love you all and am excited for the week ahead of us! STAY AWESOME!

March 12---Transfers

Hello Family & Friends!!! This week is transfers and.........I am getting transfered to Warsaw!! I will be companions with Sister Mann! :). Definately didn't see that coming, but Heavenly Father knows where he wants me to be right now and I'm excited to work with the people there and get to work! I leave on Wednesday up to Warsaw with Sister Marshall...she will be flying home on Friday. I am so grateful for my time here in Katowice and for the wondeful people that I was able to meet, teach, contact, and the strong members that are down here. Katowice is "niesamowity!" which means there is nothing like it! :) haha. I feel blessed to have had Sister Marshall as my companion and trainer, she has such a strong testimony of this gospel and was such an incredible teacher.
Sister Ellis and Ence will be down here in Katowice now, and they will love it! :). THis week was awesome...we met a really cool, young mom who was so happy and full of the light of Christ. She admitted that she was searching for something more...and we were able to give her a Book of Mormon and bear our testimonies to her. She wasn't too open about giving us her number or meeting quite yet, but she asked where church was and if there was a website that she could go to :).
But overall, missionary work is awesome! It's so rewarding and the joy that comes from it is pure happiness. Sometimes me and Sister Marshall wish we could carry around signs that say "eternal happiness right here", but I know that through bearing our testimonies that the spirit testifies to their hearts. I LOVE POLAND!  AND I LOVE ALL OF YOU! :)
THankyou for writing me! :) It helps me in my work !:)
Thanks for the pics too! :)
Tonight we are going to a cultural night thing with our district...so we get to hear some orchestra music...and a piano! I'm excited!
I will give you my new address next week! STAY AWESOME! THE GOSPEL IS HERE TO HELP US AND BRING ETERNAL HAPPINESS! don't give up. keep pressing forward. and know that better days are ahead :).

March 5th 2012--Conference with Elder Christofferson

Hello Family & Friends! This week was the best week ever!! Every week is :). haha. But the conference over this past weekend with Elder Christofferson was AMAZING and I feel so incredibly blessed to have been there, and to have heard the words from an apostle of our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ. So I want to focus on that in this letter! :)

On saturday morning we were able to have a meeting with just the missionaries and him, and as he walked into the room we were singing "I am a child of God", and the spirit hit me like I have never felt it. I couldn't deny that he truly was an apostle called of God. Some key things that I want to share with you:
*You are meant to be here. He knows the experience he wants you to have and knows the people he wants you to teach.
I think that we can apply this to our lives in general. Heavenly Father knows where we are in our lives, and knows what he wants us to become, the people we come in contact with, and the experiences that we go through in this life. If we rely on him, the prophet, the scriptures, and other leaders we will be able to become the person that Heavenly Father wants us to be.
* Someone asked the question of "how do we know that we are doing our best, and giving our all to this work?" He said if we loose ourselves in the work, we won't have time to wonder if we are doing our best. It's like happiness. If we search for happiness and focus on trying to be happy, we probably won't be. But if we DO the things that bring happiness like service, reading our scriptures, spending time with our family, etc...that we will be happy. :).
*Something else that I really liked was that he told of an experience where he went to the Sacred Grove and was expecting to have the same experience that so many people do there. But when he was there he felt nothing. He realized from this experience that we can't dictate God. He will give us an answer his way and in his timing. He then went on to say that an answer came later when he was in his home studying his scriptures. I think that this is a great thing to apply to our lives, and realize that Heavenly Father is in charge, and if we are preparing, ready and open to feel the spirit -that it will come in his way and timing.
*Some other things that I really liked from the conference were focusing on the WHY of the gospel. WHY we read the scriptures, pray, go to church. When it all comes down to it, it is because it is the path that leads us back to God and because it is true, and we do those things because we love Heavenly Father and want to return with him.

I will have to share some more things next week, but overall it was an AMAZING conference!!! On the Sunday session, with most of the members gathered together from all over in Poland was such an overwhelming feeling. I am so grateful to be here in Poland at this time, and know that there is a reason for it! :)

Konrad and andziej are still set for March 31st to be baptized! and Konrad came to the conference and loved it! :)
Transfers are next week...I have a feeling I will be staying here in Katowice :) Which I hope I do, because it is awesome here! :)
LOVE YOU ALL! STAY STRONG. BE HAPPY. LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE!! Know that the gospel and the atonement of Jesus Christ can heal any wound, sorrow, and bring a new light and happiness into your life. The gospel is true. I know it, and I can't deny it :).

Love always, Siostra 4c!

February 27th--MIRACLES

Hello everyone!!!!! Katowice is on fire right now!! so many miracles are happening we can't even keep up with it all! :) So first off...Konrad is getting baptized!! yep! He knows it's all true, and has been searching for the truth for along time. When we gave him the Book of Mormon he read it...and knew that it was from God. He will be baptized on March 31st :). The elders are loving teaching him! He is SO AWESOME! This week was in general was so awesome! We passed out more Book of Mormons then we ever have, recieved more numbers and people who wanted to meet with us then we ever have, and had an incredible meeting with Ewa our investigator!
On Wednesday we taught Ewa the Plan of Salvation and the spirit was so powerful and strong. We were able to bear our testimonies and she started crying because of how strong she felt the Holy Ghost. She is loving the Book of Mormon and is marking it, reading it again (a second time), and is finding answers and comfort in it. She got the flu over the weekend so she wasn't at church :( but we think that she will be coming to the conference on Sunday with Elder Christofferson!! so Awesome! We will be teaching her a third lesson about faith, repentance, baptism, and the Holy Ghost next time :).
After we had the lesson with her, later the Elders called us and said that they just had their first lesson with Konrad, and that he knew it was all true and that he is going to be baptized...! We were in shock, and so happy that we didn't know what to do with ourselves. It's amazing the joy that comes from seeing people find the truth, and recieving the blessings of acting on it. MIRACLE!
On Thursday we checked out a new area in the city...we went to one of the Universities and met an awesome lady named Hania who was super interested in the Book of Mormon and wants to set up with us! so cool!
On Friday we had to go get some legal work done, and on our way over, we contacted people. In less than an hour we passed out three Book of Mormons with amazing people who wanted to exchange phone numbers and meet! MIRACLE!
On Saturday we felt prompted to go track down some of our potentials that we have in the area...and out of the five...three set up with us this week! We taught a family on Saturday with three little girls and two boys. Were excited for our next lesson with them. On Sunday we met with a man who has such amazing faith in Jesus Christ. His testimony is so powerful. He agreed to read out of the Book of Mormon: Another testament of Jesus Christ.
Working with Sister Fulsom was so awesome too! She taught me so many things, and hope that I will be able to serve with her sometime :). I'm so excited for the things happening here in Katowice. Missionary work is so awesome! I will never take forgranted this time that I have to be a missionary! I love every single second of it.
I wish you all the best week. Remember that happiness is found when sharing it with others :).

Feburary 13th-- HAPPY VALENTINES!

Hello Family and Friends!! This week was another great week...and time is flying here in Katowice!! First off...Happy Valentines Day tomorrow! :) I hope you all have a wonderful day!
This week we met a couple of awesome contacts and were able to pass out some Book of Mormons! yay! :) And the next awesome thing was that Andziej came to church yesterday! yep! The elders met with him on Saturday and he agreed to be baptized...no date set yet...but he is awesome. He has gone some through some challenges these past couple of years...his wife and mom both died, and he lost his job...but he is hoping to find work sometime soon. But I know that through the atonement he will be able to feel the peace and the joy that the gospel brings to all of us.
We met with Dorota and Agnieszka this past Thursday...and taught them more about the restoration and prophets...but we are hoping to have another lesson with them soon!
Other then that things are going well here in Katowice...and we are trying to stay warm lol. It hasn't snowed a ton here...which I'm grateful for :) haha.
But it looks like we have a good week ahead of us...and were going to try our hardest to spread the amazing message of the gospel!

Today were going to this awesome crepe place for lunch...so i'm excited for that! And we made sugar cookies (shaped in hearts) like in the pic...to decorate with the elders haha. Love you all!

FEBRUARY 7--MIRACLE WEEK!!

This week was such an AMAZING week full of little miracles all around! It first started off last Monday when we finished emailing and we were on the tramwaj to go get groceries at the mall...and a young man who was diagnal from us came up and asked us if we were foreigners...because we didn't look like it but...he was our tag and was curious. This led to further conversation about the gospel and why we are here! (his name is Byszek)...but we gave him information about our English Class and about institute...and he ended up showing up to english on Thursday and had more questions about the gospel! :). He wants to learn more...but doesn't necessarily want to meet yet...but we are hoping that he comes again this week. So awesome!

The next thing that happened, was that when we were tracting we got let in!!!!!! (it really is a miracle haha). By Pan Krzystof who is in his late 60's. He has met with the missionaries before, but stopped meeting with them about two years ago...but he has a strong desire to know if God does exist...so we shared with him in Alma 42 about having faith...and having a desire to have your faith grow. We have another meeting set up with him tonight with the elders...because they will take over after this...but we are excited for him!

so awesome!

On Friday when we were out contacting, I felt prompted to contact a man who was passing us, and we ended up giving him a Book of Mormon and setting up a meeting for Saturday! We taught him a first lesson...and asked him if he came to know if these things were true in due time...if he would be baptized...and he said he would!!! so awesome!! So the elders are meeting with him again on Saturday :)!

We are also teaching a wife of a recent convert as of last week who is such an amazing and sweet lady!! Her name is Ewa and she has almost finished the Book of Mormon, and says that every time she has a problem, she opens the Book of Mormon and finds her answer in there. We gave her the recent conference talks out of the Liahona (ensign) and she says she loves it! We have another meeting set up with her next week.

We had a meeting scheduled with Dorota and Agnieszka on Sunday night...but they ended up having suprise guests over...so we will probably meet with them later in the week...

But this week has been the best week ever and i know that it is because of faith, prayers, and exact obedience!

We had zone conference yesterday...and as always, it helps us stay motivated and focus on our purpose as missionaries. :).

I love this gospel, and know that Christ leads this church! The spirit has bore witness to me countless times, and has helped me feel the peace and happiness that comes from living the gospel of Jesus Christ. There is nothing in the world that can convince me otherwise. I know that Jesus is the Christ. I know that prayer works. I know that through faith miracles can occur.

I love each and every one of you!!!

Love you all!! Siostra 4c! Stay postiive and awesome!

January 29--PLUS PHOTOS!!

I couldn't get this pic to rotate, but if you rotate it in your mind 90 degrees to the right I think it's the sign outside the door where they go to church...
